Pl 11163. T he Hawker Sea Fury was a British fighter aircraft developed by Hawker Aircraft during World War II. With its maximum speed of 460 miles per hour (852 kilometers per hour), it was the fastest single piston-engine fighter/bomber ever built, and it was among the faster aircraft in the European skies. Update of SEAFURYRAN.ZIP. This is an update of the repaint of the Flying Stations Hawker Sea Fury FB11 that depicts WH589 of the Royal Australian Navy in its last paint scheme of dark blue overall. Thanks to Chris Holle, it was possible to obtain more color photos and research this more thoroughly. One of the last and most powerful piston engined military aircraft was the Hawker Sea Fury. Descended from the wartime Typhoon and Tempest, the Sea Fury debuted in September 1946, too late to participate in WWII. FSX/P3Dv3-4 – Hawker Sea Fury. RCN and Australian Seafuries served in Korea where they were successful in combat with Mig 15s. A non-shipborne version was sold to Iraq. The serial number of this FS model is the one in Canada's National Aviation Museum in Ottawa and is unfortunately no longer airworthy. It served on HMCS Magnificent and was then based at Shearwater Nova Scotia. |
